Vintage wood weight REGULA movement cuckoo clock black Forrest dancing Folk READ. This is a very stunning cuckoo clock that is made of solid handcrafted wood, and has a REGULA cuckoo clock movement installed. Movement has a west Germany Mark, and there is a 74 visible which makes me believe it was installed after the creation of the body of the clock. The cuckoo bird looks to be hand carved wood, and the small dancing village folk look to be of a synthetic material. Features a musical chime, as well as hour strikes, and half hour strikes.

The music only plays on the hour strikes. Originally this cuckoo clock did not operate correctly, so I spent several hours taking the movement out of the body and fine-tuning every mechanism. While I was inside I went ahead and cleaned the pivots and lightly lubricated with synthetic clock oil. The movement does have some very light play to the main shaft as per normal wear over the decades. The clock keeps perfect time, and has been running for a little over two days.

There is some damage on the body of the clock, such as a missing roof shingle, and some nicks to the front edging as seen in the photos. I believe this clog was damaged during movement, and has not suffered a fall. The wooden weights look to have been dropped at some point, with some splitting as seen in the photos. None of these defects are at all distracting from the beauty of this clock once it has been hung on the wall.

I have not seen too many cuckoo clocks that have wood incapsulated weights. The benefit of these heavier eight day clocks, is that even with some wear to the movement, the excess weight allows the clock to keep running smoothly for years.

With clean pivots and fresh oil, I believe this clock has many years left to bring joy into someones day. Please be sure to watch the video I have linked in this description. The clock measures 19 inches tall, is 12 inches wide, and sticks out from the wall 8 inches.
