GERMAN HANDCARVED BLACK FOREST FRAME. This is a beautifully hand carved frame from the Black Forest.

It is very detailed and includes a rifle with hunting bag at the bottom and typical oak leaves decorating the corners. There is also carvings of a rabbit and a game bird that are attached.

Both of the carvings have glass eyes and are displayed as captured prizes of the hunt. The shape indicates it may have been made to be a face frame for a Black Forest cuckoo clock although it does not show that it was mounted as such.
